It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of the city and to forget how beautiful our province is with its drastically different landscapes. I was recently working in Nanton with a couple who came to Alberta from Saskatchewan. As empty nesters who are passionate about antiquing, Nanton provided a rich history and a 9000 square foot antique store. The grain elevators in the photo above, now closed, have become a centre of discovery for the exploration of our prairie settler history. The couple told me Nanton was a welcome change, providing the familiarity of the vast prairies and endless skies, with closer proximity to the Rocky Mountains.
